Lonely Planet

Lonely Planet publishes guides to nearly every country in the world. Originally specializing in Asia and relatively remote areas, they now publish five different multi-country guides to Europe, as well as large single-country guides, and the comprehensive Europe on a Shoestring guide. As for their strengths, they include maps of major cities, with places to stay, banks, post offices, etc, shown; they include mini language dictionaries in the country information sections, as well as brief but interesting histories and background articles.
