Hosteling guides

Hosteling International puts out a book that gives details on every hostel in Europe, along with a map that shows their location. These two items are cheap, useful, and are absolutely essential for hostelers. They are especially useful for finding accommodations and/or planning trips ofFthe beaten track, and for finding a hostel near a major city when all of the city accommodations are full. Both the book and the map should be available at any HI hostel in Europe. See Chapter 7, “Accommodations,” for more on hosteling.
