First-aid Kit
First-aid Kit
I’m always surprised at how much I use my first-aid kit, and how useful it proves to other people. If nothing else, it will save you the time and expense of buying a whole box of Band-Aids when you only need one. Above all, you should realize that it is far cheaper and better to assemble your own kit than to pay big bucks for the false security that most prepackaged kits on the market provide.
Mine includes a bunch of Band-Aids, including some large square ones for scrapes, a roll of gauze, twenty iodine wipes, a tube of antiseptic ointment, a roll of athletic tape, moleskin for blister relief, five needles and a lighter to sterilize them, forty aspirin, a pair of tweezers, and an airline bottle of Scotch for use on sore throats. It weighs about eight ounces. A more elaborate kit is essential for hikers.
