Money Belt or Neck Wallet

This kind of thing is as mandatory a piece of gear as I can think of. The security section (Chapter 11, “Crime, safety, and sleaze”) details why. Actually, “money belt” is a bit of a misnomer; they’re really small, flat pouches large enough to hold a passport, money, and other necessary documents, with elastic belts attached. Neck wallets are a bit smaller, hang on a line around the neck, and are more suited for emergency supplies of cash or credit cards, as they can’t hold much else. The money belts made by Eagle Creek are industry standard; they are available from the suppliers listed in Basics #7.
