Five Disappointments
3. The Louvre. Too big, too many tourists. Definitely go, but go very early or during the evening hours on Mondays and Wednesdays, and know what you’re looking for before you go. The Louvre is best seen on two or three shorter trips, concentrating on a specific section each time.
4. Prague. Still a beautiful city with a wonderful atmosphere, but the cigarette ads, billboards, Pizza Huts, and other flotsam of ¦ Western society are disgusting. Prague will probably look like New York in five years, so go there now, and try and ignore the pollution that Marlboro and Camel spread all over the city.
5. The Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. High-tech and glitzy, but a bit superficial and very expensive. Skip this one.
