Top Ten Museums and Galleries
9. British Museum, London. The best part of my first visit to the British Museum was walking up to this big hunk of rock, reading the info plate to see what the big hunk of rock was, and realizing that I was looking at the Rosetta Stone. Just sitting there. The British Museum houses some of the very best artifacts the British brought home from their various colonies, a couple of copies of the Magna Carta, the Elgin Marbles, and a really cool chess set. Well, Well worth a visit.
10- Vatican Museum, Rome. The Sistine Chapel, along with three absolute milestones in the history of Western Art - the ¦Apollo Belvedere, the Belvedere Torso, and the Laocoon. The tapestries, frescoes, and bric-a-brac in the corridors are about as fabulous as you would expect from the Vatican. Priceless paintings rom major artists of every age? Of course!
