Private Clubs and Private Thugs

While we’re on the subject of no-neck bouncers, many of the clubs and dance spots in Europe, particular- ly in France and Germany, are ofE- daily private, meaning that you can and will be denied entrance if you are not up to snuff. Most have entry ages of 18 rather than 21; most also charge in the USD 20-50 range for entry, have a smoke-filled atmosphere that closely resembles a tear-gas attack, and have dress codes beyond the means of a Rockefeller. Entry standards are heavily weighted against men.

(Women should freeze through if properly dressed, while the beautiful may get in “~ee.) For rejected and frustrated_men, be aware that the bouncers who guard these establishments are often little more than thugs in suits, and that they are happy to demonstrate that fact to you. (Bouncers in France arc especially violent.) If you are refused admittance to one of these places, don’t get belligerent - just move on to the next place. Don’t give these knuckle-dragging throwbacks a reason to get physical.
