Theft in other accommodations

When people stay in hostels, they are usually on their toes, if only because there are so many people about. If you are in a pension or hotel, don’t relax your guard completely just because you can lock a door. Never leave valuables lying around your room. Remember, at least one other person has a key. A friend tells the story of entering “her” room at a very nice hotel to find a couple sleeping in “her” bed. It turned out that she was on the wrong floor, but her key worked just as well in that door as her own.
